World Help

The mission and vision of nonprofit Christian organization World Help is to carry out the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through partnering, training, helping and serving; especially in the unreached areas of the world.  The organization was founded in 1991 by Vernon Brewer and is currently active in child advocacy, humanitarian aid, Bible distribution and church planting in over 64 countries worldwide.  World Help plays a vital role in the Austin-Guatemala Project by organizing and overseeing the breakthrough trips.  They connected us to our Guatemala-based partner, Hope of Life International, and all paperwork and travel information passes through their hands as they are far more accustomed to mobilizing short-term effort teams than us!

Hope of Life International

Hope of Life mission, located just outside of Zacapa, is a humanitarian institution with the goal of providing God's hope to the hurting of Guatemala, tangibly.  With an elderly home, orphanage, baby rescue and nutrition center, school, and dozens of feeding centers and programs that provide approximately 150,000 children in the surrounding villages with food, the mission impacts literally thousands every day for the glory of God.  As long-term ministry partners, World Help connected Hope of Life with the Austin-Guatemala Project.  The mission is a constant influence in the Zacapa area, including Pueblo Modelo, and therefore knows best how to go about meeting the village's needs.  Hope of Life mobilizes AGP teams to effectively aid our adopted village and build meaningful relationships with the residents, and we are blessed by their expertise and the opportunity to call the mission's staff friends.
